“The Zine of Ancestors, Musings And…”. Yes, it’s a strange name, BUT I needed words to fit the domain I own, “thezama.com”. I felt pretty lucky when I found “zine”- it was just the noun I needed or close enough.
Like my tagline says, I’m feeling the need to disseminate. I have 25 years of family research piled up collecting dust that might be of interest to someone somewhere. In this WordPress family history experiment I will start with the Parkinson family of North Yorkshire. I have amassed a considerable amount on one branch of this family but I want to delve in deeper, go back a generation and tell their story along the way.
The Musings And… section is the blog part of the site and will deal with perplexities relating to genealogy, family history and whatever else might come to mind. Historical research is fraught with questions…why this, why that, how did they do this? The answers section contains the best answers I’ve found to those endless questions.
This is presently a work in progress and an experiment to see how well WordPress works for a family history site. During the construction phase many pages will be password protected. I will make them public when completed. Thank-you for your patience.
